What is balance?
Balance is the ability to remain athletic while you move.
Every swing begins with movement. The challenge isn't staying perfectly still. The challenge is staying under control while your body prepares to move forward.
There is no single weight distribution that is perfect for every hitter.
Some hitters feel better with slightly more weight on the back leg. Others prefer to stay closer to even. For most hitters, somewhere around50–60% on the back leg creates an athletic position that is ready to move in either direction.
The goal isn't a number.
The goal is to remain explosive.
A balanced hitter stays centered.
The head remains in a neutral position, allowing both eyes to track the baseball as long as possible.
Pressure can move into the back side without allowing the entire body to drift there.
Likewise, the front side should remain strong instead of collapsing before the swing begins.
Balance is not about freezing.
It's about staying athletic enough to do whatever the next moment requires.
A good load should strengthen your balance.
Good balance should strengthen your firing sequence.
Every pillar prepares the next.
Don't overcommit in either direction.
Remain athletic.
Remain explosive.
